A Terrible Flood in Thailand Caused 224 People to Die

Bangkok - the worst flood over 5 decades caused 224 people to die. It was reported that the flood made the three-quarter of the place was logged, including Ayutthaya the old city.

Flood which had been for 2 months soaked 58 out of 77 provinces in Thailand. The 25 of them are still soaked now. "This is the worst flood ever, whether its height of water, logged areas, or even the impacts for citizen." said one of the Official of Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

The city of Ayutthaya in North Bangkok which becomes the popular tourist destination was also logged. The most famous temple of the place, Wat Chaiwatthanaram, was not available to visit since the levee was broken. "The water height of the temple is now 1,5 meters."  Said Supoj Prommanoch, head of the Fine Arts in Ayutthaya. He said that the other 10 temples were also logged but the local authorities were sure that they could prevent the flood to reach World Heritage Park which is located little bit far from Chao Phraya River.


Until November


Another tourist destination, Chiang Mai, was also logged. The local authorities always made efforts to prevent the flood reach the center of Bangkok. "This is the worst flood I've ever seen. and it will be not over until the first week of November."  said Royal Chitradon, a Flood Expert. He added that the flood in several city in Bangkok happened for long time was because the natural waterways were all blocked by the roads. Royal said that a number of reservoirs was full and Bangkok's suburbs were on the risk of flood since there will be another storm upcoming.


The government of Thailand last week had announced the direction of 10.000 armies which is supported by 500 military vehicles and more than 100 ships to rescue the victims.
