Beijing - 11 people were dead and the other 2 were missing after their cargo ships were attacked in the Golden Triangle, Mekong River. It was what the state media said on Sunday, 09 October 2011.
Those two ships, Hua Ping and Yu Xing 8, were attacked on 5 October. That was what Xinhua News wrote, which said that the leaders of China "gave a meticulous attention to the problem." The Foreign Ministry in Beijing asked the China Embassy in Thailand and consulate general in Chiang Mai city, North Thailand to do whatever it takes to find the lost two crews.
Beijing also asked the concerned countries to take an action to improve the protection of China sailors and ships in Mekong River. That was what Xinhua said, quoting a statement in the ministry site.
Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, China, Thailand, Vietnam and the province of Yunnan are included to Mekong River.
