The Danger of Consuming Vitamin E

According to a research, consuming vitamin E too much may increase the risk of prostate cancer for man. Is it true?



Prostate has function to produce fluids and enzymes which sperm needs. If the prostate is not in a good condition, many disease may come out including prostate cancer and even problems with the bladder.

Many experts says that vitamin E is good to fight the development of cancer cells in prostate. For the reason, many men are so excited to consume vitamin E even with high dose. 

Yet, a study which is reported in Journal of The American Medical Association claims that reaction and states that consuming vitamin E too much will increase the risk of prostate cancer.

A study which is led by Dr. Eric Klein from Cleveland Clinic shows that a man who consumes 400IU vitamin E every day has a risk of prostate cancer higher than those who do not consume.

"The study result shows that participants with vitamin E has a risk of prostate cancer for 17% than the other participants with placebo or empty pill," Klein said.

"Vitamin is an active agent, part of normal physiology which is dangerous for too much consuming." 

Dr. David Samadi from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City agrees with Klane's statement.

"We now have a better comprehension about the relationship between vitamin E and prostate cancer. Their invention make me more careful making prescription," Dr Samadi said.

Corn, Soybean and Wheat Lower Your Cholesterol

A research by Helena Gylling MD PhD finds a fact that Plant Stanol Ester (PSE) which is included into plant, like vegetable, soybean, corn and wheat. It is able to lower cholesterol. 


"The structure of PSE which is similar to cholesterol will help binding bile salt in alimentary tract so that the cholesterol absorbing from foods is obstructed," Helena, who is a senior researcher in University of Kuopio, Finland, said in Jakarta on Saturday 15 October 2011.

Helena explained clinically there's total reduction of cholesterol up to 8% and LDL cholesterol up to 11% after consuming PSE for about one or two weeks. 

"In developed countries, PSE is highly recommended to consume. PSE for the right diet. PSE contents a substance which may activate the protein transporter on the intestinal wall so that the cholesterol which is absorbed by the intestinal wall can be cleaned out through stool," She explained.

Brown Rice for Weight Loss

Eating brown rice instead of white rice is good to lose some weight. Grains are believed as a good way for weight loss. Brown rice contents low glycemic.  Weight Loss Food Lists has mentioned that according to a study in 2006, foods with low glycemic are the most effective foods for losing some weight because the fat is fast to recede.


A study which is published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition says that it is very important to consume brown rice instead of white rice. A study which is conducted by Harvard Medical School researches the effect of brown rice to the body. The research involves 74.000 nurses in the age of 38 up to 63 years old and has been researched for 12 years. The result is that those who consume brown rice have their weight loss.

Besides, brown rice is also good as toxin remover. Just like what Just Cleansing has mentioned that brown rice may clean the colon. Colon has the function as vacuum cleaner which absorbs the bad toxic like polution, chemicals, pesticide, and metal.

To clean the colon from those toxic, cook the brown rice for easy consuming. Before cooking, soak the brown rice for 20 minutes. There is no certain portion in eating brown rice but try to eat it until you feel 80% satisfied. Chewing the rice slowly will help you to know the time when you are satisfied.

Chewing Chocolate Has the Same Benefits as Jogging

Are you included into people who will not wake up so early in the morning to have some exercise? So, here is good news for you! You do not need to do that, just chew some dark chocolates and get the same benefit!




An America researcher has found a fact that chewing some few dark chocolates will give the same benefits as you have an exercise. It is also found that if you combine between eating dark chocolates and having exercise, the impact will increase up to 50%!

A researcher from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, found a fact that a content of chocolate named epicatechin can stimulate the muscle growth, it is the same as jogging can do.

In a test on mice,  it can be seen that epicatechin products more mitochondria which is a small bacteria which gives energy to the body and increases the number of capillary which delivers the oxygen to the muscle.  "Having aerobic or jogging is famously known as the activity which may increase the number of mitochondria in muscle cells." said Doctor Moh Malek as quoted from Daily Mail.

"Our study also finds a fact that epicatechin seems give the same benefit and response, both to the hearth and muscles." he added. They also wish this effect can be applied to humans as well. This study has been published in Journal of Psychology in 14 September 2011.

You may not have a diet as you like. Make sure that every food you eat is healthy for both of you and your baby. A balanced diet must involve fruits, vegetables, fishes, meats, and low fat dairy products. Try to consume fruits and vegetables more.

Only Eat When You are Hungry
Make a plan of your diet to keep the nutrition ans stay on the right calories. Remember, your consuming now is not only for yourself but for your baby as well. Your baby gets nutrition from you.

Join the Class of Postpartum Exercise
Go to find know if there's a place for exercise near from your house and join in. This is a good way to lose some weight. In addition, you will meet some other moms. It is better to take exercises after breastfeeding your baby.

Do not be afraid of having baby. Do not worry about the weight you will gain after. There will always be ways to gain your slim body again.
